According to the "Betriebskonzept", once per semester, a user day takes place. There, the users can exchange their experiences. Each user presents his/her work. In german:

Beowulf-Tag: Einmal pro Semester findet ein Beowulf-Tag statt, der aus einem Workshop und einem Usermeeting besteht. Dabei werden die Kontakte zwischen den Anwendern vertieft. Jeder Anwender stellt seine Projekte vor.

Beowulf Days

Sommersemester 2000 The Beowulf day of the Sommersemester 2000 was held on the same day as the press conference announcing the handing over of the cluster and the benchmarks. This was on June 22, 2000 at 4 p.m. in IFW A36.

  • Prof. Troyer: introduction on Beowulf class clusters
  • Dalmann from Dalco who built the cluster on their company
  • A few words about Linux, the operating system of Asgard, from Philipp Frauenfelder
  • Projects of D-PHYS (by Dr. A. Biland) and D-MATH (by Prof. Dr. R. Jeltsch)

Wintersemester 2000/2001 The Beowulf day of the Wintersemester 2000/2001 was held on December 19, 2000 in HG F33.1 from 9 am till 5 pm.
